What you want to do is cause a minute
to elapse from within an event chain. This
elapsed time will cause other events to
occur within the original chain of events.
This is a sort of recursion...

If the 'WAIT' works well then it should be
relatively easy to add a hook to a timer.
Then you could write a script that causes
an automatic 'WAIT' once per second if the
party has not performed...

the spacebar to 'Wait'. One minute elapses
and step events, etc should get activated
(but I did not test it).

These are not 'LEVEL_STATS' variables. These
are 'PARTY' variables. Is there no way to fetch
the x, y, and level? I see there is a $GET_PARTY_FACING.

It is ugly but very general......good for trying
things out. The $Dialogxxx feature can be used
in any script for debugging, for example.

That would be your business. We process the step events
in order from 1 to 8. Presumably you would use #1 as your
wall event.
Just tell the editor that you want the step event
to occur in...
