Interestingly, I would consider most of the walls simplistic...
I am still not sure whether I should change the way I draw the eyes of my characters or not.

Hm, maybe it's not about detail then but about the perspective?

Anyway, it's just a matter of taste and subjective perception, for that reason I wondered whether it's even fair to mention it. You should stay true to your artistic vision and do what you feel.

Hello,
It has been a while since I have posted here. A few comments:

I wrote little mini reviews in my head of each of the mods as I played them and need to write them down. It should not take long, but I am quite busy this week. I should post by the week-end.

I am currently working on two interwoven DC projects.

First I have every intention of fixing and finishing the mod I did for the "contest". There is a completely developed story, as I indicated earlier I just ran into some play balance issues, thus the demo. It is going to take some time, however, particularly because of project 2.

I learned a lot from participating in this including that to get where I want to go, I am going to need to design my own walls and probably backdrops. So I am endeavoring to teach myself how to do this and new walls for my design seems to be a good place to start. I am making some progress, but of course it is going to take some time. What I would like to ask of some of the more seasoned artists (which is everybody but me) is that when I run into some difficulties, maybe I could upload some art and perhaps you could make some comments or suggestions. When I am ready I will start another thread and people can comment or not as they please. (Also I am not exactly sure how you post art, is it just an attachment?).

Best regards,

Budzo

Please upload anything you want, I will definitely comment and attempt to help (and I am sure Manikus and others will also).
You can add attachments ("Manage Attachments" Button), or upload your art somewhere else, e.g. at imageshack or at your own domain, and add a link here in the forum.

Olivier,

I saw your message about the design. If it is OK for you, I would like to respond via a private message. I do not like to send these unsolicited, so please let me know if this is ok.

Thanks,

Budzo

Olivier, I have no idea why my mod would display like that. What's your monitor resolution setting?

Assuming that you just tried to run my design separately from your regular DC install, it should have worked. If you went through the editor though, you might have all kinds of problems, if it even worked at all...hmm, I actually don't think it would load without erasing everything...

This is one of those days when it's a pain to have to use the library's wi-fi. I would just search for me reviews...I can say that everyone got a passing grade.

I'm currently using the highest resolution possible and that's 1680x1050. I haven't had any problems with it before.

I think I tried both approaches, run the design separately AND through the editor. I can't recall what I did first though. What would that have erased? Hopefully not anything of my DC install but just the setting of your design? In that case, I might just try to re-install your design and run it right this time. I'm not sure if it's the solution to the problem but definitely worth a try. I sometimes do stupid things and immediately forget them, maybe that's what happened, heh.

Olivier:
If you just ran my design from the engine, nothing should have changed anywhere, but if you ran it through the editor (depending on what you did exactly) some stuff might have changed, but only in my design.

I really don't know what else to say. I've opened the design on my desktop and my (Linux) laptop and it looks the same on both...

I just used the engine, not the editor. I was able to run it on the other computer back in december, I'm assuming it's either due to my new monitor's setting or resolution or due to something I did wrong. Hm...

The display problem.......

I suppose this is a bit simplistic but....
I do need additional posts to help get rid
of that horrible Avatar.

My monitor will cut off the left side of
the image when the software changes the
resolution. The monitor only adjusts itself
when it is first turned on. So, when the
software changes the resolution, I must
turn the monitor off for a second then turn
it back on so that it can make the adjustment.
