grabbing his stomach in agony and marvelling at the dexterity of his opponent, Larry neverthe less saw an opening in the foe's defense. Payibg too much attention to throwing fists, he had left his legs open for any attacks. As Larry was in a stooped over position, he quickly raised up and made like he was going to deliver a jab to the guy's throat, and when his opponent raised his arms in defense, Larry stooped low, and sweep kicked him off his feet, toppling him to the ground on his back.

OOC>>>I take it that it is fair to run only one attack per round, right?

OOC: Allright, one attack per round. /OOC

As the fall on his back pounded the air out of his lungs, J'aran cursed his own stupidity in letting his guard drop like that. He rolled onder a table to take cover, scaring away two Goblins that were cowering there. On the other side of the table he managed to get on his feet once again, and, after regaining his breath and his balance, jumped over it to resume the fisticuffs.

Larry sees him jumping his way, and looks around for something to dodge behind. Not seeing anything near enough, he patiently waits for the blow to come. Maybe he can withstand it...

OOC>>>sorry for the confusion....I did not mean for you to limit your writing. I just thought that the rule was one attack was permitted each then let the other respond, but since nobody has proven this rule to me, I do not know if it exists in this thread. Either way, don't let me stop you from kickin' ass!

OOC: No problem. One or many attacks per round, it's not likely that one of us is going to kill the other anyway. /OOC

Seeing his opponent doing nothing to counter his attack, J'aran is caught off guard and hesitates for the blink of an eye. What is he up to? Suspecting a trick, he makes as if he aims a blow with his right fist at Larry's head, only to suddenly stop the swing halfway, after which he quickly resumes with a swift kick at his enemy's knees.

"Damn!", Larry grunts as he was again taken off guard by the quickness of this little brute. He had pulled an effective feint. Larry decided to try a different strategy. While he was thus hunched over rubbing his knees,he lurched suddenly forward, tackling the brute with sheer force and quickness, hammering his shoulder into the man's chest and barrelling in on him. As he fell into a table behind him and stopped his reversed pace, Larry began to deliver lightning quick fists of fury into his face.

Spitting out a broken tooth and trying to block the fists slamming into his face, J'aran marvels at the sudden ferociousness of his opponent. When he can't move backwards any further he realizes that he must do something to turn the tables once again. Gritting his teeth, he stops fending off Larry's blows and launches himself forward and takes the man in a bear-hug, trying to crush his ribs with the sheer force of his arms.

Having the breath squeezed out of him was not very fun at all. Larry tried tofocus on J'aran, through blurry and misty eyes. When he thought that he had gained enough strength, he slammed his palms into J'aran's ears, then forced himself painfully backwards, hoping that the diorientation his opponent is suffering would loosen his grip for Larry to break free.
