i got a FN, monk, sam, and lord party.
I did one lvl of rogue for the lord and sam and got stealth up too 100.
Everyone is around lvl 9, i'm not really working on training magic as much as I am training crital strike and combat, so I can dish out alittle more damage.

I have my monk on staff, FN on staff, sam bloodlust and that other sam sword no one can spell, and lord sword/mace/shield if i want to.

Just wanting to know whos tried a party like this and to see if anyone has any tips, such tips as best way to train some skills, combat, magic, ect. The reason I picked this party, its goign to take a long time to train them up, and I have nothing but time to kill, i just get too lonely with a solo

Just any thoughts, comments or ideas, i'd love to read em

This is almost exactly the party I played a few months ago... I had a fellpur ninja (I find FN too strong with CoC, only used it for solo)

I focussed on combat early on, but tried to cast a spell or two every battle... just so I could use higher level spells when they became available...
Once I got the portals,I set one at the mana fountain and used a lot of magic for a while training magic skills...

I chose not to spend time 'training' skills, making it a clean party...

I had a very hard time against big groups becouse ninja, monk and sam would keep running out of stamina... once my lord got better at 'Rest all' the game became a lot easier...

At lvl 20 or so I changed my ninja to ranger (helm)... monk had all mana recovery items...

It's a fun group... I replayed it adding a bard and gadgy, the best 6-person party I ever played...

Enjoy the game...

Whick, which other races did you choose? How is the party doing now? I'm currently working on a 3:

Mook Ranger
Hobbit Bard
Elf Priest who became a Bishop at lev 6

May change Bish back to Priest when has Missile Shield and Enchanted Blade.

human monk, that cat race sam, and the wolf race lord,, forgot how to spell them

party lvl 11

things are alot better now, i'm maxing out speed, and dex on everyone, i want to get were no one can touch my party

lord=fang/DE, 100 in stealth, ac is around 29, hes my main healer and buffer, he rocks, i don't see why people don't like the lord, they can wear any armor, use about every weapon, and with DE, its good to have that extra in duel.

Sam still using BL and 2nd sword no one can spell, hes doing good, alot of attacks, around 30 dmg per hit, about 4-6 attacks per round

monk= SoD, i also use terror, insane, with the monk i try to disarm the mobs with SoD or mind spells

FN= no coc yet, i might not need it, using that winter wand, with the throwing star that comes back.

I have done the lord sam monk and ninja route many times.
The important thing ive found is MAGIC.
Dont worry too much about physical skills (except possibly stealth)...

But as soon as you reach level 5 and open up your magic books PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE.

If you dont you will find the enemies increasing in strength faster than your party and combat gets increasingly more difficulty.

With lots of magic you soon to start unlocking the fun spells like insanity & healing for the monk, fireball and enchant blade for the samurai, healing and whipping rocks for the ninja and healing and magic screen for the lord.

With the more powerful defensive spells available you can kick butt using weapons or magic.

I've been thinking about doing the Faerie Ninja/Lord/Samurai/Monk too. It seems like a fun alternative to having straight melee types and a bishop. Two questions for everyone who has done this group:
1) How viable would it be as an ironman team? I want to try out an ironman party soon.
2) I have been unimpressed with the level 6 and 7 spells' effectiveness against higher level monsters. Would switching the Lord/Sam/Monk over to fighters when they turn 16 be a good idea?

edit: Thought better against switching FN to fighter, this would elliminate the CoC.

ive done this 4 char party too..
its actually the only one i played to the end
it was very powerful at the end and all characters trained magic, with the lord casting the most due to his healing abilities
followed by the sam and monk tied in close seconds and the ninja last because i found the only good alchemist spell for the party was elemental shield...

This party will have troubles in expert ironman mode. In normal difficulty, it will work well. But in expert, you need effective missile shield and magic screen (and armorplate and elemental shield). I am an experienced player, but this is the kind of party that often dies. Several times to deathsting apusses in upper martens bluff, or even to sprites in Trynton. Once you reach level 12-14, you can cast this protective spells at higher power, and it goes better.

Your Realm score helps your green zone increase, too. If you practice with Knock Knock at lowest power on a tough lock for even a few minutes, your Earth and Alchemy Skills will increase noticably. Get a couple Mana Stones so you don't have to sleep (just don't use all 3 charges, sell and buy back to recharge). You should be able to cast Element Shield even by L10 in the PL5 range if your Earth is high enough.
Unfortunately, there's no such "cheese" for Soul Shield. (except maybe in combat, healing opponents...) And though a Bard's equivalent of PL goes up with Music Skill, there's still a random factor with Instruments+
.
I agree, though, you have to be very careful in Expert Ironmode, for your Faerie will be weak, and your Monk nearly harmless for what'll seem like too long.
(i've dragged a similar enough party through on Expert but not Ironmode.)

Scatter or anyone else,
1) Does high piety also increase the green zone, or does that simply increase the mana pool size?
2) What else affects the power levels you can cast in the green, and in what proportions?
Thanks!
