My goal is to have a guy as strong as a fighter as possible with the spells of a priest. so there is a little more to do then just bash stuff although i still want that to be my main purpose.
Basically i am restarting because i was a half-orc and couldnt do the romances and i also screwed some stuff up. What i wanted to do it be a human fighter dueled into a cleric i think. Now i was wondering what weapons profeinces woulod be the best for a cleric cause i have to ad them all in when i start as a fighter. I was thinking either flail, hammer ormace but i cant decide. I want ed if possible to duel weild with 5 slots in the weapons and 2 in two weapon style. However i dont know who the weapon profiences work when i am a duel class. Can someone tell me what the best way to do this would be? Can a cleric add more then one slot in any weapon? And do profiences stack? For example if i were to take the original 6 sockets i get as a starting fighter and add 4 into mace and 2 into two weapons tyle and then dueled to a cleric and leveling up the cleric i added another 1 into mace once i got my fighter skills back would my profiences be the original 4 from being a fighter PLUS the 1 i added while being a priest or does the greater profeince just override the lesser? Help please...
Thanks to all who reply

Nah i thought about that i dont wana be a paladin cause they are the worst of both worlds, the cant specialize enough in weapons which makes them be bad fighters and they get shafted for priest spells.

If you have ToB, dual class a fighter into a cleric at 13th level. If you only have SoA, dual class at ninth level. Yes, your prof. slots stack. If you have four in mace, as a fighter and throw one more into it for your clerical slot, you will end up with five when your cleric levels up to 14th or 10th.

If you plan on using Crom Faeyr, then put some in hammers. Otherwise, go with flails and maces.

? I must have been dreaming then when I completed SoA-ToB with a solo Cavalier. They can Turn Undead, it is less effective than a Cleric's but trust me, they can still kill Liches later on. They are not Clerics, but they can cast up till level 4 Priest Spells, if they were allowed to cast any higher, they would be too godly already. If Paladins were allowed to grandmaster in their weapons, trust me, nobody will want to play a Fighter anymore.

They do not get the worst from both worlds, they get good stuff from both worlds and are for the better for it.

Oh, and did I mention the bonus of being able to use Carsomyr?

Fighter->Clerics cannot Whirlwind later on, Paladins can. F/C cannot have Hardiness, Paladins can. Paladins can gate in Devas as well.

So do not say that Paladins are weak, because they are far from weak; and just for the record, my favourite Paladin kit is the Cavalier.

Mitro has more or less covered the dualclassing part already.
