Take the infamous "road" as an example, what determines when a respawn happens? Is it time-based, caused by a Save or Rest, or what?

I'm trying to figure how to maximise my chance of finding monsters to practice on [img]smile.gif[/img]

Then rest after every encounter, that causes respawning, and I hear exiting a map and re-entering it does it as well.

Okay, I didn't know if resting alone was sufficient or something else also was needed ... like moving around or getting to certain trigger points.
