Hi Z,

Your module is very popular all over the world, so people pop in at all times. Why is the reset set for two hours? Most of the quests have been done and things slow to a crawl as the remains build up after several hours of play in the Undermountain. I try to tidy up after myself but I follow the group's lead.

Are you trying to annoy the quest busters? I leave the quests alone if I'm playing a 40th level character and usually leave them alone if I'm a high level character. I've been on several quest completions that are out of my level though!

Is half an hour before the reset to much to ask?

Roddy

I have only been playing for a week, but yet to find a quest. Lag was very bad today. Waiting for a 2 mins between each 'transaction' with a NPC merchant and fights

Sorry, I do usually reset it 2 times a day. I went to a wedding today, so was gone all day

I agree though, I'll lower the reset time to 30 mins.

(For those that don't know what that means

If the server is empty for atleast 30 mins, it will reset. The chances lately of it being reset have gone down, because it's been getting popular as hell, , and was set at 120 mins. So I just changed it to 30 mins instead.

Thanks for the reminder, I did need to do that!!

That's great! Half an hour suits me fine. I was going to PM you about it but I wanted to see what other people thought about the reset time. I think that some people prefer the instant reset as soon as the server is empty, but who can say? Hmmm, perhaps a poll...

I think a reset for the server immediately after it is cleared out would be in order. After all, it would not be that often thta the server is picked clean and would be advantageous for those who want a "fresh start" to simply do a ~shout~ and have everyone log back in within five minutes. Then those online the server at the time could simply go off and get their refreshments, coming back to a brand new game.

Of course, I just go on at random intervals so it doesn't really matter in my case.

Ahhhhhh, I was wondering why I could not find a quest till late last night. I've been playing for a while too, and was having a tough time finding quests, Now I get it.

Nice Work Z !!

I really like the 'instant reset' because I find that it's hard to find quests with my lower level characters (well actually I've had same problem with 30+ level I guess) and sometimes we go in to play just to try and find the quest on a level we did earlier when they were already taken.

If there are only a few of us on it's nice to shout and get off the server then come back and find things reset. Hubby and I did that with someone the other night but after 15 min we went back in and it wasn't reset so we left and didn't go back, I thought something was wrong or we missed someone who was on the server but hadn't shown up (that happens once in a while).

So I think I like the 10 or 15 minute reset time, myself but I guess a half hour's not too bad as long as the reset 'clock' starts when the server empties. If it's only going to start when the servers has already been empty an hour that could be a problem! Especially on weekends when it won't reset much because of the crowds on!

Instant reset sounds pretty good to me - last few days i've been coming on to a carpet of remains through lvls 10 through 12 and massive lag - It's rather disheartening also to find you fight your way through a level to find some one's farmed it - reason why i leave the placed items if i already have them. At the moment i log on and if i see remains everywhere i log back off as there's no point in trying to play.

We had a instant reset for a while but it did cause some problems with people loggin off and the amount of times that the server was reset in a day.

The problem with the instant reset is that when you were soloing and you were logged off the server would instantly reset and take 10-15 minutes to come back up again. I think a half hour of being empty is a good time for a reset.

Problem is, it is rare on a weekend (the popular times to play) that it would be empty for a half hour and if those on the server agree to get off and let it reset, like a few of us did last weekend, but another logs in before the half hour is over, no reset and it gets crowded but there's no quests or items and lots of lagging... so I don't know know if it's better or not.
