I'd love to give this great game to my nephew for Christmas, but he has a Mac, not a PC. I know he's been able to play some PC games (under emulation or something similar?) but I don't know whether this game will be playable. I asked him about it; here is his reply:

As for Wizardry 8, I have a Mac with a 9.0 OS, but it does not have a G3 or G4 processor. I have a relativly old mac; a 1997 model with 150MB+ of RAM and a 2 GB hard drive.

Can somebody advise me?

Much thanks,
Throg

My housemate has a Mac with a G4 processor. He runs some PC games on VirtualPC (one of the emulator programs) We tried with Wizardry 8, it kept crashing to the desktop. It's possible another emulator would do the trick, don't know. Even if it did, though, Wizardry 8 is pretty processor-intensive, I kind of doubt that one from 1997 would be up to the job. It's sad, but true that a gamer really needs a PC these days.

Unfortunately, there's no way - plus the game requires at least 8mb 3D video, as well as over 1.5 gigs of hard drive space.
(Maybe you can make him REAL happy and buy him a new PC and Wiz8 )

Thanks, all, for the bad news. If I win the lottery, he gets a new PC for sure!
