Okay, that's a stretch...

But last night, we gave up on doing the Rumphy. Completed the rest of the crypt, slew Scabban with a single meteorstorm, and nearly drowned while swimming to the tomb section.

One minor note: Asylum ghouls really stink! They do a lot of damage to these poor little peasants... Flitter was casting heal spells left and right, and used up a rebirth scroll on Eljayess, who zigged when she should have zagged.

Scabban was actually less XP than Rumphy... only 800 or so, compared to the 1200 that Rumphy brings. 'Course, they were able to kill Scabban quickly, so there's a big difference right there.

The wizards got credit for the Scabban quest... and guess what! No more quests for them, either! This is getting annoying... I *know* Tevik Teporn is waiting around the corner, and I know where I can get a good deal on an orb of clarity

I'm wondering if there may be minimum stat level requirements to get quests... that's a stretch, I know, but it would explain a couple of things. Wishful thinking, I'm sure...

On the plus side, they did find two ankhs... and no, I'm not going to use the drop-and-shop trick to duplicate them. Strength and Spirituality... I may save them until someone's within striking range of being able to change classes.

We're going to go to the Toad Village next and clear out the Evils. The 5 extra HP mean a lot at this point... everyone is 8th level, and aside from the two warriors, everyone has between 16 and 21 HP. Pretty pathetic...

We'll also open up the way to Ishad N'ha. Perhaps that will open a couple more quests... or perhaps not. We'll see.... or not.

It certainly is far more challenging, lemmetellya.

More news tonight... I hope...

This "missing quest" business requires more investigation. But why should a quest's availability be linked to one or more stats?

Could the Warriors Strength minimum of 9 be the problem? Since a normally created character will always have at least 9 in the class attribute, this would normally not be seen.

I'm not sure yet... one of the warriors has a 9 strength (or close to it), so I'll check that out. In any case, here are the facts:

1. Both wizards did one quest, then are stuck.
2. Both warriors did one quest, then are stuck.
3. The priest did one quest, got the second, and completed it within the same session (without leaving the temple). She is now stuck on the third quest.

In the first two cases, they didn't ask for the second quest immediately upon completing the first one. That did happen with the Priest quest.

I've just opened up Ishad N'ha, so I'll try to get some serpent coins before I get the rogue quests. I'll also try different scenarios... getting the second quest immediately, getting it later, and so on.

Stay tuned...
