I CAN"T STEAL!! i cannot steal no matter what i do, i can't steal in shops nor from people, whenever i enter the shop and i click on my thief the (Stealing icon) hand is not there, and whenver i steal from people, the message tells me that 'target has no items'. i installed the 1.3.06 patch, is there anyway i can get it to work or is this some knida bug?

I had the same problem with my thief. I couldn't steal OR detect traps. In my case it was the armour I had equiped her with. Some types of armour can effect your characters abilities so try changing it around. Most likely that will be the case. If not, see what percenage your thieving abilities are at. Maybe they need to be higher before you can steal successfully.

no i can detect traps and my thief is wearing a studded leather +2, i was not able to steal right in the beginning of the game, all the way till now i'm in chap 4 and i have not stolen anything. My pick pocket skill is 80%

You can't steal from certain shops. Some don't have that option. As for stealing from people. Only a few have items to steal. It's not like in BG where a peasant would have at least 1 gp. Try pickpocketing Orick (the mage in Kuldahar) or the potion sellar. Also Arundel might have something. Try pickpocketing from them see if you got something.
