How can I defeat Shoal without being kissed by her first? I tried it several times, and I always loose at least one of my party members. Or isnīt she worth it and I should just ignore her?

Choose the party-member with the least HP to kiss her - after he dies, just attack Shoal. After a few moments she should give up. Demand that she restores your fallen comrade, ask why she did it, and promise to help her get her freedom. Then an Ogre-mage appears - kill it and collect your reward (xp from Shoal - a decent helmet from the Ogre-mage)

Nope. To initiate conversation with her, you have to be next to her, and her death-kiss is scripted into the conversation.

Besides, if you kill her before she has a chance to complete her spript, her husband won't show up.

Yeah I had a feeling thatīs the way it was. I dont remember her husband showing up though. I just killed her right away when I got the first chance.

For what I remember, shoal is somewhere southwest, next coast. Helpful, eh?

You can actually repeat this several times. After you've killed the ogre, just attack her again, she asks for mercy again, a new (?) husband arrives and you can kick his butt again. He's got quite a useful helmet which you can equip each party member with...

BTW Yes, you can kill her (from distance) without killing her and receive 4000 XP

That must've been tricky. Oft as not, my artillery nails her before she gets in range. I must confess that I've never thought about doing that though.

That sounds like one funky bug, Perivar. In my game, Shoal knows that her script is finished, and walks away......or tries to, but she gets shot full of barbs before she can get too far.

I always take my archers and stand at a decent distance from Shoal (so that she is just visible). Then I just let fly with arrows of biting, ice, fire and acid. She dies very quickly, and, contrary to what Perivar said, you actually get five thousand experience points
