Yup the constant black fog all around you gives the game a bit of a depressing edge to it. Of course it at least appears to have been made in a time period when computers couldn't show an extensive view of the surrounding areas.

Yay!!! I reinstalled and that fixed the area transition lock-ups, but I still get some random assertion failures here and there.
Umm scratch that. The dreaded area transition lock-ups have returned. The last time I let one sit still for too long it closed out the program and gave a runtime error. Interplay gave directions to fix it but only on windows 98/95 I have XP. Quote:

I have similar problems with Firestormalpha about the crashing thing. Try to look in its official site for troubleshooting http://www.interplay.com . I managed to fix my problem by deleting the cache file. And whenever I start the game, it'll create the cache file again automatically.

Sorry Baron, I forgot to list that as something I've already tried. It didn't exactly help me all that much. So I'm still out of ideas. The game is still playable I just have to quicksave pretty often.

Well, I hit a spot in the Catacombs where I couldn't progress without falling out of character. So I loaded up a previous save, which unfortunately was before I actually got the a certain collector. I don't mind though. Took a different path I did. I told some preist I'd become a disciple of Aoskar, and the Lady sent me to a nice green maze. I figured it out in about 10 minutes + all the running around I had to do. Good news is that the area transition lock ups seem to have receded, hopefully this continues *knock on wood*.

Anyone besides me kill themselves in front of Awaiting-Death just so he can realize life is worth living?

Here's a new question. Anyone out there actually open the box given to them by Mar?

s p o i l e r it's just a crappy 600 exp demon slug thingy... no fun at all...i thought it would be a giant winged great balor or something ![]() lol anyway, for the lock-ups, you have to copy all the cds onto your harddrive and when installing make those the place for installation...i think that's how you do it. atleast it involves copying the entire cds onto your comp. it solved my problem somehow, anyone?
