the golden pantaloons have nothing to do with the ulcaster ruins, it is part of the most biggest and secretive easter egg in the whole game(bg1,bg2,ToB).
this easter egg was never meant to be found but was when cheaters cheated and then spoiled the easter egg by spreading the info about it. |

Pantaloons have nothing to do with it, and ulcaster does give you the sword, at least i got it.

The golden pants are nothing special. They just look good and have a story behind them. And if I remember correctly, the will also lower your rep right?

The pantaloons....
As said before, the pantaloons have nothing to do with the Ulcaster quest, or even the entire game. You may want to hold onto them if you intend to import your character into BGII though... |

I beleive I heard of a differn't pair of pantaloons that you get in BG 2 that you have to do something nefarious to get (part of the same easter egg)
