I am starting a new character, and I have chosen to roleplay as an Imperial Legionaire, but I need to know what class of armour do they wear?
Spoiler.. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I read somewhere that the Lords Mail is a heavy armour, but I am sure the armour I am given when joining is a medium armour, should I pick medium or heavy, or even both? Thanks in advance to any replies! ![]() [ 10-29-2004, 12:57 PM: Message edited by: Snezzeke ]

Take heavy, if you RP a legionnaire, then be a heavy, as you will surely be getting Lord's mail, which is pretty good. Heavy is in general better then medium with the daedric stuff and whatnot.

Most (but not all) of the Imperial Legion armor is heavy, so if I were you I would go with heavy armor.

from a practical point of view, i'd suggest taking both armor types. one day you might find some medium class armor that's better than your current heavy armor and also you might have to train in medium armor skill just so that you can obtain maximum point alotment when going up a character level.
in order to be able to increase an attribute 5 points (max) when you level up you have to train/obtain 10 points in any skill that has the same governing attribute. in the case of heavy armor that would be endurance. besides heavy armor the only other skills that share this attribute are medium armor and spear. i hope i'm not spoiling this for you, but often times i train in skills that i won't use only to be able to obtain 5 points to an attribute when i level up.

Heavy armor: All pieces, considered the Imperial Legion "uniform", are heavy armor. Also, all pieces of armor given to you as a reward for completing Imperial Legion quests are heavy armor. Therefore, if you play a legionaire then Heavy Armor skill is a must for you.
Also the best armor in the game is heavy armor, including armor artifacts (with one exception). Therefore, a good value of the Heavy Armor skill is highly recommended. Medium Armor. If you play plain Morrowind without special mods then you can ignore this skill almost completely. It's good only for improving your Agility stat. There is only one piece of medium armor in the game, which is worth of mentioning - Ebony Mail. This cuirass is a quest item/reward of one Temple quest and it is unreachable otherwise. Therefore, if you aren't a member of the Temple then you cannot get Ebony Mail. Even the light armor in the game is better than the medium armor! Therefore, medium armor = added weight plus less protection. Light Armor. There exist a very efficient light armor in the game - the Glass Armor. It's better than any piece of medium armor (except Ebony Mail), it's light and very nice. Only Daedric Armor (heavy armor - and really heavy ![]() I recommend the Light Armor skill because the light armor will be your first armor - unless you become so strong that heavy armor will not overweight you.

also with light armour you can get the curass of the savior's hide which is kick-butt armour. best light armour in the game, with a VERY useful enchantment.

Radek did state a few things incorrectly:
the governing attribute for medium armor is endurance not agility. Radek: is that piece of armor "ebony mail" the same all the other ebony amor? all the other ebony amor is of heavy class.

The Ebony Mail is not the same as all the other ebony armor. The Ebony Mail is unique medium armor piece that carries a nice shield enchantment and is a real pain to obtain.
