And am I the only one who plays the Smurf theme song every time I enter the Xvart camp? ("Die, snotheads!" That's just Papa Smurf's way of saying "Defend the village!")

I will vote for pronouncing it svart. Otherwise my theory (see above) makes no sense at all.

My dad calls 'em Egg-Farts If you right click on Xvarts, sometimes they say "humaniod Scuz Suckers!"

Who're YOU callin' a Scuz Sucker, Punk!?

IIRC Xvarts (pronounced correctly by Byrd) are originally from the Fiend Folio which the older PnP'ers amongst us may remember. They were either an elaboration on an experiment that went wrong, or just one of a whole slew of underground races introduced into the game at the time. I suspect the latter, as there were 'Dark Creepers', 'Tasloi', Githzerai and Githyanki et al. It was a mixed bag of creatures, some of which we accept as the norm nowdays.

//snore// Boring history lesson over! //snore//

BTW, there was some talk of a "By popular demand...We should..." thread, but few people seemed to like the idea. The greatest proponent of it was Grungi, but he raised them as an army to battle Mr Underhill's Kobolds. The plan went horribly awry, and the Xvarts fell to killing cattle instead. There goes another dream of world domination.
