What the hell is a xvart??

This might seem like a strange question. After all I should know that xvart are those ugly blue humanoids of childlike stature that fail to be even the slightest bit menacing but you still have to kill in droves. Related to kobolds people say they are.

But still, I like to have some kind of background on the monsters I'm facing and these eludes me. Therefore I ask: What exactly is a xvart?

Just kill them? Good for cannon fodder and probably related to goblins as well.

Best I could find on a quick google search:
http://www.d20reviews.com/cc/Creatur...rted/xvart.htm

Basically, there's not much to them. They're goblin/kobold-like creatures short on intellect, stature, and pretty much everything *except* making pests out of themselves. In strict gaming terms, they're just kobolds without the annoying ranged attack. No great mystery to 'em. They're just Xfarts. Er, Xvarts.

A bigger mystery is when this Cadbury Egg I've been sitting on since last year will hatch. I can't wait to have my own clucking, Cadbury-laying bunny.

all i know is they make that funny 'eeeeeeeeeeeee' sound when they see you. Right before they smash themselves to pieces against a few big guys wearing full plate and packing steel. They're kinda like lemmings I think... got the IQ of a potato

Only if there's plenty of popular demand. But all this interest is definately a good sign, I think we could try Xvart Integration now. Although personally I am more one for Xvart disintegration...

Maybe it comes from the (very) old nordic word 'svarting' or 'svartning'. I think it was some sort of boogey man the vikings used to scare their little children. It means something like 'the black one' (but why is a Xvart blue then???) and was used for some kind of a (often mental or/and physical degenerated) outcast that lived in the wilderness (they would eat little children if they could catch any). They were only dangerous by night. Scary?

Gollum would fit perfectly in that role
