I can almost smell the corruption that's dripping from this latest development in the trial against Juventus, Fiorentina, Lazio, and AC Milan. Suddenly Lazio and Fiorentina won't be playing in the Seria B anymore, but will remain in the Seria A with a handfull of points less to start the season with. AC Milan's penalty has also been reduced to -8, and what's even worse...last season's final table has been changed into a situation where Milan will be able to compete in qualifying rounds for the CL, while at first they were shut out from that tournament for one year. Juventus is still going back to the Seria B, but their -30 points penalty has been reduced to -17, which gives them a much healthier prospect of promotion within one year.

Unf*****gbelievable....they did, they finally corrupted the whole system.

Bah. They needed a clean sweep. I guess the financial knock-on effects would have been too large..

Eyup, it's corruption from the highest level indeed. The entire system is being corrupted beyond recognition. This is an outrage! Of all the clubs that should be relegated. It should be AC Milan. Poor and innocent Juventus were made to suffer for what other people did. What ever did Juventus do to deserve this? Oh the humanity!

I've been hearing snippets of this over the last few days and concur that it stinks. It begs the question: What exactly is a "shakedown" if the problem parties suffer no loss from it?...

I found it funny also that one newspaper in Italy (the Gazetto or something) knew the outcomes of the trails a day before. If that doesn't reek of corruption I don't know what does.

Anyone else get the feeling that Silvio Berlusconi has been pulling some strings behind closed doors ? I mean Milan's punishment is almost reduced to zippedeedoodah, plus they still get to play in the Moneyleague. This is almost like an open invitation for other clubs to start doing some cheating of their own, the penalty is no worse than a slap against the buttocks.

And then those fans....i mean how stupid can you be ? All they worry about is wheter or not their team is going to compete in the Seria A next year or not. If i were them, i'd be a little more concerned with how my own team takes the piss on me and my fellow supporters. Any idea what seasontickets cost these days ? I do, and they don't come cheap, i can tell you that much. So i pay all that money to see my favourite team play in the flesh, and this is how i get rewarded ? Fixed games ? Bribed referees ?

No thank you. If i were fan of either of those clubs, i'd burn my seasonticket, and turn my back on those cheating bastards. I want my club to win, but not like that. If i wanna see fiction, i go to a friggin movietheater.

And of course FIFA being so corrupt themselves they will do nothing or as little as possible. Italy shoud be banned from internationals untill the next world cup.

Has there been any hint of corruption involving this world cup just finished? So little of this story is getting reported down here.
