OK, just how long does Invisibility 10' Radius last?
Obviously it's NOT the maximum 24 hours that is indicated in the manuals and the BG-info sites I've seen... I had 5 of my party invis in a stairway, blocking off a horde of undead while Keldorn was picking them off with Azuredge. Great. Easy. Until all of a sudden the whole party turned visible (they didn't even move or do anything). Ouch. Oh I survived all right, but I sure don't want that to happen again. I don't mind if it has a short duration, I just would like to know how long it lasts so I can strategize properly... |

Possibly and enemy cast an illusion dispelling spell? Dispel invisibility springs to mind

... A dispel? Hmm - No, I'm pretty sure it wasn't that - actually these were just Ghasts, Ghoul Lords, a couple Zombies, some Mummies, and Skeleton Warriors... I didn't remember seeing a Dispel or True Sight animation on my party, all of a sudden they were visible and getting attacked.
And IIRC I recall this happening once before about a year ago, but at the time I thought it was just because I accidentally had the party go up a staircase or something... [ 05-11-2003, 12:39 AM: Message edited by: Mahlennacht ] |

Changing area's shouldnt dispel the invisibility effect on your characters, unless you have a bug they should stay invisible until the duration runs out, it is dispelled, or you sent them to use/attack something

Right, my mistake - confused invis with Stealth.
Oh well, I take it then that others have used 10'-Radius Invis with 24-hour duration? If anyone else has successfully used it for longer than about 3 turns or so, then I must be missing something somewhere... |

Ill check IEEP and see if it is supposed to last for longer than 3 turns
EDIT: It should last for 24 hours, but had you actually climbed any stairs it would have dispelled as well [ 05-11-2003, 01:22 AM: Message edited by: Glorfindel ] |

HAH - OK this time I timed the spell with a stopwatch. Jan was 8th level, but it doesn't seem to be a factor.
After the spell was cast, I started timing. The party basically stood around doing nothing. Everyone suddenly became visible after exactly 5 minutes (real time). So I guess that works out, in game time, to be 5 turns, a nice round number - I believe the duration is the same no matter what caster level, but I'll check again later (first I have to get Jan back). |

Duration of the spell is 300. 300 seconds = 5 minutes real-time = five turns in-game.
It doesn't depend of level. A LEVEL-UP!! A LEVEL-UP!! [ 05-14-2003, 05:28 AM: Message edited by: Vedran ]

Does anyone know why the 10' radius in Invisibility 10' radius is so much smaller than the 10' radius in Protection from Evil 10' radius?
I usually have my party in the 2x3 party formation, and have never failed to hit everyone with a protection from evil, even if the caster is in the back row. In fact, summons at quite a distance away are also affected--it seems to have the same area of effect as the bless spell. On the other hand, if you cast Invisibility 10' radius, and your characters circles are not basically touching, you will miss some of them. Judging by the scale of your characters, it seems to be more like Invisibility 3' radius. Is this a mistake in the manual and spell description, or just in the implementation of the spell?

I'd say it's a mistake on Bioware's part
