I gave up on Zone Alarm and Hijack This back in about June. I have never used them since. I run a hardware firewall, adaware, and occasionaly Spyware along with AVG Anti-virus. I run this computer 24/7 and I haven't had a virus since sometime in 2003.

I got this Trojan Horse Dropper. Small.8AA still infecting one of my computer. Nothing can remove it. Looks like I need to reformat the HD.

I've got a Hardware firewall, NAV (hate the way it spooges all over my system but it works so WTH), Spybot, Adaware. I find spyware occasionally but have not had a virus in years.

In case I wasn't specific enough, Spysweeper is a free application to download.
It sweeps your system and deletes spyware. It also alerts the user as to when something changes the homepage, favourites, or appears on startup.
To continue updates and whatnot, the user must pay for a full year or a few months with a credit card. I have had no spyware on my computer, even with much music DLing and accesing of video/multimedia files from the internet.

I use Ad-Watch from Ad-Aware it blocks ALL things that trie to install on your computer but it ask before blocking so that is the best program ever i have had on my computer

If you are un aware, adaware has a new version. Adaware SE. I ran spybot and found nothing, then I ran Adaware SE, and found quite a bit over 400 files.

I did my brother-in-law's pc this weekend, which was running like a dog, ran the new adaware and the scan found 4083 suspicous spyware files. No wonder the pc was dogging.

It's funny hopw the most protected pc's get the most trouble with spyware etc. And no, I do not just not detect it [img]tongue.gif[/img] I mean AGGRESSIVE spyware problems like browser hijackers and adpopups.
