ToB Spoilers

Recently I hit level 19. Having ToB, I gained access to real great power! Yeah, those HLAs!
Improved Alacrity and DragonBreath, along with the Wish, are really great! By the way, now I understand why Dundee calls DragonBreath/Comet 'Kangaxx The Demi-Lich'-Killers - tried to dragonbreath at the poor skull that was merely floating in the air excersizing with his low-level spells Ah, man, that was too cruel - it just burned to dust, leaving some junk on the ground

And all that in ch2

So now I have some questions for you:
 1. What are the most potent combos and tactics for a high-level sorcerer, taking ToB HLA's into account?
 2. Which HLA's should I choose?
 3. What are the powers of Wish spell, other than restoring spells? And what does the list of wishes depend on? Along with 'rest' I got 'leveldrain my party', 'poison everybody on the screen inc. my party' and other nasty stuff...
D_Slaytern] ToB Spoiler tags should be used when talking about ToB stuff in the SoA Forum.

Wish depends on Wisdom, as does limited wish.

Heh, I see that the Wish spell is not so potent after all The only real cool choice is spell-restoration and maybe double Time-Stop with Imp. Alacrity.

I went solo - thus gaining all the XP from slain monsters/done quests myself only. Soloing, you level really fast!

You'll get Slayer change ability in the Asylum in ch 4 (IIRC) But for me it was of no use

Wish is the nr.1 spell for a sorcerer actually, since a sorcerer can use it's full potential. However, Im not worthy of wrinting down such powefull information . .and therefor i respectfully wait for Dundee .. who has so much more flair when he writes it all down

ok, so im just lazy,.. blame the search-function, not me .. I cant take the pressure of writing everything twice

getting inspiration

Project Image is the key ... a sorcerer can cast many, and still stay versatile .. which is why the tactic is best on sorcerers. They have the necessary spells involved as well as any other spell, A mage doesnt have that advantage and must select spells very specifically for this tactic to sort of work.

Anywayz ...

Just cast a project Image, and make the PI cast wish untill he gets the -rest- option ( optionally with Improved alacrity / potion of insight for ease of use)
PI and Wish are a sorcerer's happy-spells. since a PI can unleash an incredible force,.. and then another PI has the exact same spells as the former. Therefore a sorcerer has N x more power as much as he can cast PI's.
Two PI's ll probably deal with any enemy .. and then you'll stil be able to have a few PI's cast a whole lot of wish untill you're rested again

A somewhat cheesy tactic is to load a Chain Contingency with 3 PI's, and set the conditions to helpess and cast on self. Now, if you cast PI .. 3 more PI 'll join you .. effectively making 4 sorcerers of equal power out of one sorcerer. Now that's power

Does 18 WIS guarantee that I will get 'rest' option most of the time? What is the optimal value for WIS to get that 'rest', say, 90% of the tries??

This is entirely based on hearsay (i dont have ToB and so cant try it myself) so take it with a grain of salt.
From what i gather from Dundee and others who have ToB, the options you get are completely random, your wisdom only affects whether you get all your spells wiped, or a few back. Please, feel free to correct me if im wrong, as i said, i dont KNOW, my input is based on things i have read in other posts.

You'r wrong.
Your talking about Limited Wish,.. wisdom affects the choices you get with limited wish .. but the choices'll be more or less the same every time i think.
F.e. a mage with 5 wisdom would get the option to get all his spells wiped from his spellbook, where a mage with 18 wisdom would get the option to partially restore his spells.

Wish (lvl 9 ), creates options on a chance-based thing.
I believe a sorcerer with 18 wisdom, has a 12.5% chance of getting the -rest-option when casting wish ( not a whole lot)
