Don't know what it's called as stupid record companies try to come up with new names every once in a while cause they have to put it in some box. And since just metal doesn't describe what I like correct I have to use those

At the moment it's called something like gothmetal. Further some heavy, doom, death and black, power (really rare but sometimes I hear something which sounds ok) metal but only the names change as most bands I like have sort of the same setup. All have keyboards, grunts and most female vocals as well. Though all sound relatively, don't know if there's a good word for it, but sort of polished, it's loud but does have a touch. I hope that's a bit clear lol.

Further I like some punk (the real stuff) like sex pistols, bad religion. Some folky bands do great as well, floggin molly and finntroll. I like bands with those latin influences like Ill Nino.

And last I like some of the old Linkin Park and some Evanescence though both lost pretty much all the interest I had.

Anything really, depends on my mood R&B is usually a no-go though, so is rap, although I do like some rap-songs.

I like hard rock and metal. My favorite bands are Deftones, Tool, Nine Inch Nails and Rival Schools.

Mostly progressive metal, branching over to different types of metal sometimes.

Depends on my mood, but my tastes are eclectic at the very least. I have a collection of Broadway songs, the best of Meat Loaf and Kiss, Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly, and a bunch of Enigma CDs. I've also recently acquired a very nice Ani CD that I'm enjoying very much.

Just what is it with gamers and metal music? Not just here, but on every single board with primarily gamers as members the vast majority for some reason always turn out to be metal fans when the obligatory music threads pop up

I mostly listen to rock and guitar pop of the classic kind, like Oasis, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, The Smiths, Rolling Stones, The Who, Morrissey, Kent, The Walkmen, BRMC etc, etc. Though besides most subgenres of metal and electronica, I don't really have aversions to any genre of music.
