Stains

in the heart of every mother
stands a stain upon her chest
of desires to be happy
and to have a day of rest

To her she is selfish
wanting above all others
wishing she could leave
but she is just a mother

For her children she would die
give up her very breath
But for her no one could care
about her daily endless test

to her, her life is gone
she must protect her mighty young
as each day that passes
she feels her days are done

Still upon her soul
will forever be the stain
to remind her of her faults
as her tears fall like rain
