I saw a commercial for a new computor much alike the new iMac's. Small and compact, and it is a PC. I forget the company that made it, and I wanted to see how much they cost. If anyone knows, could you please tell me? Thanks!

Are they made by a Future Power or a Japanese company called Sotec?

If so both have been sued by Apple:

I've seen the ad but since I build my own did't pay attention to the manufacturer...I believe it was either Dell or Compaq.

No....this is the so called eOne compared to the old iMac

The computor that I saw looked quite similar to this: (note this is a monitor for a mac beside a G4 Processor for mac)

It was from Gateway

Though you might want to know that in the long run with the cost of hardware and software such as windows, microsoft word, and other things, you will be paying well over 1000 dollars just for that. I suppose the same goes with buying an iMac though the new Gateway's monitor isn't adjustable.

I have a new theory and it goes like this:

No One In the Existance of Mankind should BUY one of those new gateways over getting a Gateway 700XL it is simply foolish to do so!

but then again that's just my theory... You can try to get this new iMac Clone, they've been cloning the iMac for years, the iMac was just based on the first Macintosh with it's all-in-one appeal. If you want true all-in-one get a laptop, but if you care for something to garnish your desktop head down to the gateway country and ask about their 700XL model, I bought one of them myself, top-of-the-line with 2.7 Ghx and 2 gigs of ram... I must say that this computer deserves no name other than "a tiny god" and it shall have that name on my LAN around here

Then again there always is the Falcon, which is the best of the best of the best of the desktops...

My dad says the Gateway is too much anyways . So if found another computor thats really good. It's $1400 excluding the monitor. Its called the New COMPAQ PRESARIO 6027CA DESKTOP COMPUTER. It has a pentium 4 procecessor...1.9GHz, 256 MB of Ram, 60 GB hard drive, And DVD/CD-RW drives. I'm lookin at a monitor thats $800. Here is the computor and the monitor together.

Make sure that compaq doesn't have an integrated video card! And be sure it has an open AGP slot or two,My last yr. compaq was a real pain to get a decent video card for it.

Whats an AGP slot? and why not an integrated video card?
AGP :Accelerated Graphics Port (Sometimes Advanced Graphics port, this is incorrect) Basicaly its a slot on the motherboard that allow incredibly fast data transfer between RAM and the GPU. The only real alternative is the general use PCI slot, and thats much slower and will limit graphics capability tremendously. AFAIK you cant have 2 though.

And you dont want integrated graphics because there always dirt cheap, use system ram instead of video ram, and can refuse to let a seperate video card work leaving you with no upgrade path. Its not a critical issue as long as you get one that will let you disable it, but for a games machine you want to avoid if possible.
