that article makes it sound like no one can agree why the drop. i personally say who cares? as long as it drops.

well ok, i truly do care, i'd prefer abstinence, especially for my own children, but...if they are gonna go for it i want them to protect themselves from deiseases and unexpected pregnancies.

The average age of marriage is the late 20s. It's unrealistic to expect people to abstain from sexual activity until then.

No frikkin kidding. I'd explode -- literally. Look, both abstinance education and contraception education/dissemination were used, so it's obvious the answer is that both, in conjunction, work. DUH!

As for abstinance until 20 -- whatever. Do abstinance education all you want dude, it'll help keep the 13-14 year olds in line. But kids are having more, not less, sex. And the only person I ever knew who waited til 20 had her dad tell her to go out and get laid and quit being a royal bi7ch. And all along the way, Catholic shoolgirls and other girls who have regular lessons on abstinance, have been do-able. Trust me. They just know not to get caught. It's obviously from education and the availability of/information on contraceptives... Abstinence "education" was around in 1946. Information wasn't. You do the math.
