Am about to start my first game, would like to play a scout. Any tips on stats, skills and feats? I'm afraid I'm not to conversant on 3rd Ed D&D rules, which I understand is what the game is based on.
Thanks.

Obviously a high Dexterity, wisdom is ok when you become a Jedi, if you are planning on using pistols or rifles, then the feats you want are Rapid shot and power blast, if you plan on going melle like me scout did, then I suggest flurry and critical strike, the rest really depends on how you want to play your character.

But wouldn't you have to be proficient in melee skills once you become a Jedi?

But wouldn't you have to be proficient in melee skills once you become a Jedi?
Hayashi, I could probably type up heaps of info for ya on here but I can't be bothered

However, this site http://www.gamefaqs.com/ has helped me with heaps of games in the past and if you look up KOTOR they have heaps of FAQ's that can help you with what you want. Some of the info can get really deep and involved though and there's HEAPS to read if you really want to, BEWARE OF SPOILERS.

It really does depend on how you like to play. You will eventually become a jedi in this game and I assume you'll want to use a lightsaber so putting points in strength can increase damage, you'll need average intelligence to get good dialogue options, wisdom affects how much and how powerful your force powers are, dex is for ranged weapons and constitution for HP....
Is that the sort of stuff you wanted to know?

Oh and those skills that HiveTyrant mentioned...you get to choose those skills when you level up, you do become a little more proficient with melee once you become a jedi, but only with lightsabers, and you will still need to choose powers as you level up.

Anyone can correct me if i'm wrong

Yes you have to become one, it's part of the storyline and unavoidable.

But that doesn't change much. Even if you get levels in your Jedi class, you can still use and raise your old class abilities.

Bristowe,
I noticed that the gamefaqs walkthru's for KOTOR pertain to the Xbox version. Any real diff b/w this one and the PC version?

I'm actually looking for some simple hints and tips, plus a table of attributes and bonuses that come with it. For ex if you had WIS of 14 than you have a +1 for certain feats/skills/saving throws?

There is no difference between the two except for the fact that on the pc version you get an extra zone with an extra shop.

Also as a scout make sure you use all the abilities of your crew. Your scout may not be the best melee around however equip Zaalabar with two vibroblades and watch the bad guys fall.

Same goes with the rest of your guys. Really try to switch them around for different situations. You will get different quests on different planets so make sure you use all your party members so you get the maximum playabliity from your game.
