I got POR:RoMD at the bargain bin and have installed the patches(1.1 then 1.2 then 1.3 then 1.4). If you examine the properties of the executable it sez version 1.272. I don't think this is correct. I would think the version # should be in the range of 1.4xx or so. The file I am looking at is "por2main.exe". If someone out there has POR fully patched on their CP will you tell me what version # you show? TIA. BTW, the game I have is the remake for Windows, not the old DOS version.

File versions may not correspond to the game version. Looking through NWN 1.62, most of the fiel versions are 1.0.0.0. So I wouldn't worry about it unless you have problems that should be fixed in the patch.

all that matters is the ver number that appears on the bottom right of the main menu screen. it'll say 1.4 and a date (the patch date i guess).
my exe says 1.272 as well.

true, it is rather unbalanced. and be careful you don't go the wrong way and get attacked by something you can't handle (not that you can tell which is the right way). and learn patience, some of the fights can be very tedious if there are a lot of enemies. esp if they decide to wander off for a while.
however, i'm addicted to this game at the moment. characters are currently around lvl 14-15. and as to the question at hand, i have had the game only crash on me twice.
