Finished and curious of what's to come

So I finished SoA the other day with my cavalier (yeay!) and I must say that this game kicks serious ass. But there a re a few unresolved questions that have been nagging at me since I started (and a few new questions too)

1. when you have 18 strength, what does the second number on the other side of the slash mean?

2. if you have a multi-class character (ie. a ranger/cleric)which stronghold are you eligible for? One of them? Both? Neither?

3. i was never able to install the exp. cap patch properly, only unzip it... anything i may have been doing wrong?

4. What happens when I install ToB? will I be able to continue with my cavalier at his existing level? (and will i be able to gain more exp. even though i reached the cap in SoA?) and do romances continue as well?

1. The slash works as a decimal point. For example 18/68 equals 18.68.

2. Both or 1 of them, I am not quite sure.

3. On macs you just put it in the override folder.

4. You can import saved guys from SoA to ToB. Yes. I believe the XP cap is lifted to a higher level. Finally Yes, romances continue in ToB.

1) The second number is a sort-of percentage above straight 18, as starting characters simply can't have a starting score in strength better than that.

2) As a multi-class character, you get the first stronghold you're both eligible for and go after.

3) I wouldn't worry about that patch. If you'd loaded it, you would have had problems gaining experience/levels when ToB was loaded.

4) When you move to ToB, you can continue to run your current party--as I recall, the cap moves to 50th level. Your party also gains new spells and/or skills, depending upon profession. There is a new NPC party member to consider, as well. And last but definitely least, yes, romances continue.

The Xp Cap in ToB, is raised to 8,000,000 Xp. This means that your character can attained a maximum level ranging from 31-40, depending on your class type.

Only warrior type classes( Fighters, Rangers, Barbarians and Paladins) can have this bonus. The second number ranges from 01-00, where 00 equals 100. The higher the number, the greater their strength. 19 STR is higher than 18/00, but 18/00 is higher than 18/50.

This depends. Multiclassed characters that have the Fighter aspect, can exploit a bug in the game to gain two strongholds, but rulewise, the stronghold you get is the first stronghold you choose.

Unzip the files into your game's override folder.

First of all, the Xp cap is raised to 8,000,000 Xp. When a party member levels up and his/her combined Xp is 3,000,000+, he/she gets to choose a High Level Ability. Your Cavalier will continue into ToB, simply fight the final battle, and he will automatically transit to ToB. If you do not wish to re-fight, you can just import the save game in ToB, and extract the characters. Finally, romances do continue in ToB, provided they reached a certain critical point in SoA.

Do you have a manual? Str 18/-- means that you have better THACo and Damage. Check it! This is the reason to place your points on Wisdom if you aren't Cleric. Higher Wisdom=Lower chance to be cought by "Hold-Type" Spells
