For those of you who have finished the main quest, at what level did you attempt to complete it and at what level did you finish it?

The reason I am asking is because I have found this game is eating my lunch when it comes to spending time on gameplay. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but I just finished the Fighter Guild quests and started on the Imperial Legion and - wow! - I sure got a long way to go if I continue as I am. I have been thinking that I'll try and tackle a few Imperial quests and then head out for the Main quest.

I did as much quests as possible before heading to Red Mountain. Not that i was afraid Dagoth Uhr would kick my butt if i got there not leveled up enough, but i simply wanted to do as much as possible.

You see... once the mainquest is done, the drive to continue is gone. At least that's how i feel about it. I mean, why would i wanna run errands for the Imperial Guards, when my name is friggin Nerevarine ?

But with Tribunal i recaptured my drive to play, and it will only get better, Bloodmoon is coming.

I was about level 25 when I finished the main quest... I had only joinde the fighter's guild and no more. I just concentrated on the storyline. With my second char, I haven't even got corprus yet... and I am level 60 or so

B_part, did you find level 25 adequate to finish the main quest? Also, does this game universally respond to your level, i.e., you are 25 so the majority of encounters are 25, or does this not even come into play? Thanks.

I was around level 30 or so. A fighter mostly with long sword skills.

I think I was about 23 (at least I'm 27 now and I've leveled up a few times since finishing it) and it was reasonably easy to do at that level. I think that for random monsters they adjust them to your level, but specific people have a certain level and it stays that way the whole time. So you would probably do poorly on the endgame at level 15. But over 20 I think is fine. It may depend on what type of character you are though, and how 'well' you leveled - ie maxed out your attribute points at each level up or not (I didn't - was fine ).

Yes. I used a pure fighter, which is easier to turn into a killing machine. And also I had the right equipment - e.g. the best armor and weapons.

As to the game, it depends: some encounters in the wilderness are leveled, some others are not. By "leveled" I mean that the type of creature that spawns is based on your level, from scamp to golden saint. The big bosses should be fixed.

When I did the final fight thing with dagoth ur, I was a level 21 basic adventurer. Mostly used an enchanted steel daikatana. Also had some lockpicking skills and i used the fireball spell. Dagoth was pretty easy. He's only lvl 35 after all.

They are leveled - to a point.
I have just finished the main quest and my charactor was level 75 - it was too easy. I reccomend doing it at a much earlier level to enhance the 'fun factor'.
