I'm stuck on the first shrine seargent quest for the imperial cult. The one where you have to get the bowl from the elf Carayel in Gnaar Mok. I went to see him, but he says 'I don't have the bowl go away' and all I can do is say goodbye, I can't persuade him or talk about anything else. And I tried breaking into his house but the guards frowned on that

Hmmm... I don't remember killing him, so i guess it's not necessary. IIRC the bowl is either in the house or somewhere hidden below some docks...but I night be mistaken.

How would I get in the house without getting the guards angry? Is there ever a time when Carayel's inside? I've been to Gnaar Mok a few times now at different times of day and he's always outside somewhere and his house locked.

Perseverance on this one Aelia.
*SPOILER* - - - - - - - - - - - The bowl is indeed inside his shack. Carayel will never speak to you about it - except to moan when you go back and ask him after completing the quest - so you'll have to go in and get it. I'm not sure if he has the key on him, but stealing that is likely to be harder than picking the lock on the door.

In other words, cast chamaleon and pick the lock. No other way, except picking the lock and paying the fine (remember to remove all the stolen items from your inventory)

I found this one quite easy as I was about level 30 when I did it with "sneak" at about 80 and lockpick too.
Not being seen is the key to this one.

Well so long as I know it's in the house and not some obvious hiding spot I didn't notice. Thanks! Might leave it till I can do it unnoticed
