Icarian flight scrolls

In Ebonheart, I jumped onto a ledge where I thought there was a door, but when I got there I found out there wasn't one. I couldn't jump over the side because of the wall-things on the edges. (I had jumped from over it to get there.) I decided to try the Icarian flight scrolls to see what they would do. After I cast it, I jumped and got launched into space. There was nothing but black around me (it was nighttime), and I had lost sight of the ground. After around 10-20 seconds of seeing nothing, I looked down and after a few more seconds, saw the building I had jumped on. I hoped the 1000 point boost in acrobatics would also protect me from falling as far as I had jumped, but I nicked the building and died instantly, and my body landed somewhere near the fountain.

Has anyone else used the Icarian flight scroll? Have you done it without killing yourself?

Yeah, all it does is knock me out a little bit, a good idea though is to use slowfall during the descent right before you hit the ground. Or try to land in a deep body of water....

Instead of jumping straight up with em, jump while running, you go across the country with all 3 of em. Crazy.

I sued careful guestimating and aiming for large bodies of water. Funnily enough I coud have chosen to die and raise my acrobatics, or live and ge a bit wet. Did that a few times as I only had 3 scrolls. That how I left the start of the game. And reached Arena.

yeah i just keep them because i don't know what else to use them for, if you think about it, they ARE pretty useless

And if you're in the middle of nowhere and want to reach civilization? Just jump and you're in any town you like.

I could argue that Interventions are obsolete if you have Icarian flight

Aha, another Icarian Flight thread! It seems they pop up as soon as the previous thread leaves the front page!
Truly, these are the most intriguing item of the game... many have tried to find a use, most have failed... useful if you become a vampire and you cannot use travel.
