When you find this excellent Hauberk (Somewhere near Ebonheart), it gives you the handy bonus that Imperial soldiers recognise you as wearing your "uniform".
This meant when I found it, I no longer had to carry around a useless extra hauberk to put on when speaking to legion members.

Its also the best Medium Armor in the game, Medium Armor lovers may want to take note.

No kidding! I figured that if what's-his-name that I killed was wearing it, it was good enough for me.

Then you must use some patch or mod. It is Heavy Armor in my game (no patches, no mods). And even if it was Medium, it still wouldnt be the best - the Ebony Mail is much much better.

it's a heavy armor, but it's only the second best heavy armor. it will look good at the rack though.

Yes, its one of the best but not the best.

If I may summarize:

Best Light: Cuirass of the Savior's Hide
Best Medium: Ebony Mail
Best Heavy: Dragonbone Cuirass

excellent! I got all 3.

In, tribunal. the 6 named ordinators in Alemexia chamber got good armor too.
