Crash to desktop in the beginning

ok, I have a serious problem. when I try to play Morrowind everything goes well untill after I created my character with the sign and all. As soon as I try to leave through the door after getting your first dagger and lockpick my pc goes back to windows instead of loading the next area.

I also tried having a friend make me a save game passed that door and it worked, but it still crashes at some doors (not all, but always the same doors)

I already have the newest patch installed, but no effect

btw, already tried search for excisting topics but didn't find anything I could use.

How much memory do you have ?

Turn the acceleration down on your Graphics card and on your audio card and make sure you have at least 1 Gig of un-used hard drive space left on the Hard drive the game is loaded on. I had the same problem and this worked for me also run the resolution 1024 x 768 for the best performance.

I have 320 MB, so memory is not the problem.

But TCB, shouldn't I lower the resolution?
