Firstly I would like to thank Lana and Deathstalker for two amazing mods!
When I realised how much work goes into it..thank you! Now I'm fooling around with the editor and I keep on getting crash to desktop errors whenever I load a area or load a quicksave (don't understand it either) I need help! (Not the instituional help..yet) I'm abusing Lana's mod - love you Lana! I created a nebdar apprentice monster and placed her by the statue in the upper monastery, the first time I tried it I got a CTD when I killed her, I had used the sorceress model. So I used Lana's new higardihealer model and she dies no problem and drops her treasure like a good girl. I then placed three mobs by the bandit chest on Arnika road, my dark druid spawned by those first two bandits and though being tough for a 5th level party he also went to the reaper with no problem. Feeling confident I placed a psionic (basically the mook deceiver) and a bishop (based her on the higardhealer) as soon as I disengage from these guys - they are a little too tough for 5th level the game CTD's. The other problem I am having is casting level, the apprentice, the druid and the deciever all work fine they cast 2-5 power spells with a fair spell failure. The Bishop, all her spells cast at 7th!!! and she's lower level (5th)???? So my question is how does the game system determine spell level? Her Pie and Int scores are about the same as the others and I can't see anything else wrong? The CTDs could be my fault, I didn't start a new game after modding - is it neccessary? I went back to the monastery and also CTD? Any help thanks!

From what I understand, Mad God's editor was just recently revised so that you can now set spell power level for monsters. Other than that, my guess is that starting a new game might help. Are you getting any specific error messages with these crashes? Please let us know, and I hope getting the latest version of the editor will help you with the casting issue. You may also want to post your modding questions at the VN boards, since there are quite a few modders over there who could probably help you out...

Hi Sinteuil, thanks for the reply. The problem is that I get no errors just straight to desktop, seems related to my new mobs death script restarted and my nebdar apprentice is again causing the CTD when she gibs even with the new model, not sure why it worked that one time??? Will post on VN and try the updated version of editor.

Right I picked up the latest copy of madgod's editor, decided that the game didn't like my flamestalker implementation
![]() debug assertion in module c:\local code\gameplaydatabase.cpp line 320 failed: expression [uiMonsterIndex I unplaced my mobs one at a time, started a new game hoping it would reindex? Went to a different level trasition and came back. Backed up my modded database installed flames patched and no change - oh pooh, fully reinstalled flames mod still same error on that map. I don't get it my first monster and two items placed fine??? Is it just me?

The only thing that comes to mind is that someone got a similar error message during early testing of Flame's mod. It turned out to be a mod installation problem. Also, if you ever used deathstalker's mod in addition to Flamestryke's mod, it's pretty easy for problems to occur when trying to switch mods, so even after uninstalling a game, it's sometimes necessary to go in and delete folders yourself. Anyway, it may simply be an issue of missing some of the monster files. I'll quote Flamestryke here:
[O]bvious things to check first are to be sure all the the database files are where they need to be and all the model script files are where they need to be. You did get Flame's Note from the beach correct? If not you may need to install the mod again. Be sure you have a Monsters.dbs file under the SirTech\Wizardry 8\Data\Databases path. Then check the SirTech\Wizardry 8\Data\Monsters folder and be sure you have 55 files with the .MLS extension. If this doesn't help you, definitely try posting on the VN boards...
