Ok, so I got the game on Saturday (the 13th) and have a couple questions.
1)Is there a level limit? If you max out your major and minor skills can you still level up?

2)Does a spell that does 5 pts of (say fire) damage for 2 seconds do a total of 10 damage? If so, than how is Poison different (other than fire/poison resistance and that kind of thing.) From the description of the poison spell I bought, it seems that poison does its damage for the duration of the spell. The description of the other damage spells are not worded that way and I was wondering if there was a difference.

3) Do the monsters change at all as you progress in levels, or is a rat always a rat?

4) Someone "kind of" answered this elsewhere, but wasn't really clear. He (she?) said that if you get 100 cheap potion ingredients you can level up your Alchemy skill rather easily. I assume he meant by eating them. (There was an allusion to this in the strategy column of this months PC Gamer). So you can increase the Alchemy skill by eating stuff? Is this faster or slower than making (or trying to make) potions?

5) What were my other questions? I had others but I have forgotten them. Do you know what they were? They weren't on the FAQ I know that much.

Any help would be appreciated. This is the game I was hoping Daggerfall would have been. I am very glad that I decided to get this instead of Warcraft III.

Technically there is, since you can only level up by increasing either a major or minor skill and you need 10 skill increases to level up.

Yes to the first part. As far as the descriptions go some damage is spread over a duration, some is not. If it says "...for x sec" than it will continue to damage the target, if not all of the damage is applied in one lump sum. It only makes a difference when it either doesn't kill them right away and they kill you while your spell is slowly killing them or you're trying to make your own spell or enchantment and the duration increases the cost significantly.

A rat is always a rat, however, most of the monsters you encounter are spawned by the game based upon your level. So, where you kill a rat today you may find a bull netch tomorrow.

It's slower. Also, you can turn around and sell most of your practice potions for more than the cost of the ingrediants.

I think you're sitting on them, no wait that's not it, well either way I know I don't have them

level limit is lv100. but most people can get lv74 - 76 with all major and minor skill max at 100. you can get even more by making your self commit crime and be thrown to jail. which will make your skill lower. then you can train them.
