Is it possible to take out faldorn Without issuing a challenge or poisoning the grove ??

In my game, she just stays at "near Death", while her altar is leeking spells like he held it up for a week .......

it isn't possible with out using poison or a druid to challenge her. As she said, she is a part of the grove so you have to kill the grove to kill her or you challenge her with a druid in your party to fight. only ways to do it that i know of.

Doesn´t Cernd follow the group even though he doesn´t join the group and then he can dispense with the evil Faldorn???

Well, YES; if you talked to him in Trademeet and you agreed to meet him later, he'll be outside the entrance to Faldorn's hold - but he's got to be part of your party in order to challenge Faldorn, and even then Faldorn's tough to beat with Cernd... unless you use the right combination of spell attacks.

That is not quite true my friend. Just summon some animals and flee her attacks. As she is always going after Cernd your creatures will take her out eventually (I beat her with two WAR DOGS!!!)

However Cernd has to be in your party. I suggest to tell Cernd to mmet him at the grove and do this part of the quest when some party member is away (like Mazzy waiting for her sister to recover, or Jan staying with his former love) as I don't like kicking party members out.

ive done it a few times WITHOUT Cernd being in my party...i just meet him outside of the grove (after talking to him in trademeet, saying i would help but i didnt want him in my party) and talk to him, then he follows me inside and he can challenge her by himself

i think he always wins...he changes into a werewolf and just runs up to her and pummels her she bites the dust pretty fast

Cernd is not the only Druid - I got Jaheira to challenge (and win).

I thought you had to be a certain level (14?) to challenge - she wasn't.

I think you have to be a certain level to challenge for the lead of the grove (if you are a druid yourself and want the stronghold).
You can face (and beat) Faldorn at any level (Just be wary of any insect spells).

Very true. Cernd has an extremely good chance of winning if you don't have him in the party and convince him to challenge Faldorn. I think it's because he has another quest later, so the game needs to keep him alive...
