Why is it that magical healing allways works on enemies... regardless of their magical resistance?

Even opponents like eldorado who is pretty much totally immune still heals up nicely if im feeling nice.

my theory is it's because they don't know anything about magickal healing. if they did, wouldn't they also make sure they had healers in their raiding parties? like yours and mine do?

Actually, there are a few mobs that do Heal themselves. And it drives me nuts when they do. Especially those Rapax Priestesses, who sometimes even Heal All.

Why does magical healing always work on your party members, regardless of your magic resistance? A healing spell would be quite useless if it wouldn't ignore the resistance.

ack! i never noticed that about the priestesses. my current playthru is all full of surprises this time 'round tho, so i'm thinking it means i'll be running into every single baddie who heals themselves. lucky me!

Last night i got into combat with a roving group of no less than SIX priestesses with attendant beserkers.
Boy that was a fun battle. They didnt do to much harm thanks to my magic shield in combo with element shield and soul shield.
THe beserkes died quickly... but i just couldnt clobber priestesses quick enough...
They would heal and mass heal like crazy, and cast body of stone and guardian angel on themselves so the damage i inflicted was minimised.

That combat went on for a LONG time.
In the end it was my persistance, casting many restall spells on my tanks and duration spells like acidbomb and toxic cloud that won the day... wearing them out so they couldnt cast spells.

And boy did my weapon proficiency stats go up after that battle.

I love those fights, where you're not being harmed, but you take forever to win. Did you try Super? that one turns the tide a lot. (notably my latest Pair of Bishops vs. the Don--even with Doom and a DE; without Super, no hits for a couple dozen rounds. With Super, the fight lasted another 4 rounds.

All positive magic (magic that helps you i.e. bless, element shield) ignore those bonuses. Resistances only help against damaging spells. Thats why, if you've ever noticed, when you backfire a spell its reduced.
