Does anyone have a list of all the special items that only work for certain races/classes? Things like the cane of corpus which only works for faerie ninja or the giants sword that only works for mook fighter types. It always bugs me each game to find these great items that I can use because I don't happen to have the right combination. For the cane of corpus I lucked out, I had a faerie monk so I just changed her to a ninja. For the giants sword I have a mook but he's a ranger. My main fighter could do with the giants sword as I have too many front row fighters and not enough positions to put them in.

On another note, how random are the spellbooks generated in shops? It seems to me that better spellbooks come in stock as the game progresses, but are there limits on what spellbooks can show in in certain shops? My bishop is missing some high level spells because I haven't found spellbooks for them yet.

The highest-level spells you can buy are level 6, and you can get them from Ferro. Level 7 spells you have to take with your spell picks at level up time.

What you see is also level-dependent. For example, Crock won't show you the good books until everyone in your party is at least level 11. There is a similar level requirement for Ferro, but I don't recall offhand what it is.

Are you sure about the Giant Sword and Mook ranger? I thought rangers could use that sword.

Question Mark

I've used a Mook ranger with the Giant Sword. It was why I choose the combination. Something else may be happening. I think it may be a strength restriction, that is, must be greater than 90 or something.

No, Ferro sells the level 5 books (all of them AFAIK).
I think the only buyable level 6 book is banish (later at the temple in arnika)

Sorry, I didn't get my point across very well. My Mook ranger can wield the sword but since Rangers only get criticals at range I prefer to have him in the back row firing arrows. Admittedly he doesn't get criticals very often so I should probably use the sword when the enemy gets close enough.
