Spellbooks again

Another newbie question concerning spellbooks: When can I buy them? Do I have to be Guild Lvl 3 or something? Until now I didn't get any spellbooks offered, neither in Valeia nor in Ishad 'Na, where I went before I restarted. I haven't completed all mages' guild quests, though.
Or is it a certain spellcaster level I have to reach? Or are spellbooks such rare items? I'd rather think they are expensive, but not that rare...

Please enlighten me, sages!

You can buy spellbooks as soon as you're a member of the appropriate guild. But you can only buy them at minimum of your current role level or the curren skill level. So, if you're a Level 2 wizard with a Level 3 Suncraft, you can only buy Level 2 suncraft spells (until you go up another level). If you're a level 5 Priest with Level 2 Vinecraft, you can only buy Level 2 Vine spellbooks, etc.

Also: if you already have the spell, you can't buy the spellbooks.

Also: You have to be IN the guild (go to the Guild screen) and then click on "Special items" or whatever the middle icon is to purchase the books.

Of course I have to enter the guild first and then select "buy special items"!
