After getting Myles in Arnika, I equipt him with two Poison Daggers. He was doing 10~15 Damage per Dagger often times, besting Vi in the Damage category.
In BG, BackStab is to stab the opponent at their back for whopping x2~x5 damage. In W8, Roques have "Free Backstab". How is "Free Backstab" workin W8? Does this mean Myles (or other Rogues for this matter) automatically attack at the back of the opponent? What gives? PS. Oftentimes, having to wait for a turn or two to move the party is a very big disadvantage. 7 of the party members were wiped out in one turn facing those "lizard face" psionics in the swamp going to the "???? caves". Makes me think that THAT is an impossible mission. |

Does backstab ever do more than 2x damage? I think I saw Myles doing 3x or more one time....maybe it just was because the monster was paralyzed or something

Melee attacks of all kinds do an extra 1x damage against opponents who are disabled, such as KO'd, blinded, paralyzed, etc.
If you want Myles to really shine, try giving him Bloodlust in one hand and a Thieves Dagger in the other. Nothing like berserk backstabbing to really clean house! P.S. Backstabbing works the same for your rogues as well as Myles. It's a class feature. Of course, enemy rogues have the same ability... |

If Rogues have Backstab and high DEX (reflexion) does this mean Rogues are better compared to a specialist Fighter?
Right now, I am giving the weapons to the characters with the highest proficiency just to make sure they are SUPPOSED to be more effective with it. But is it? One of you mentioned giving Bloodlust to Myles; would he be that effective with it? How effective IS putting an skill point into Dagger Skill compared to none. What is 100 Dagger Skill in terms of Damage, To Hit etc compared to having zero? |

Fighters can wear much better Armor and use a broader variety of weapons. It is hard to say which class is "better". Right now, I am giving the weapons to the characters with the highest proficiency just to make sure they are SUPPOSED to be more effective with it. But is it? One of you mentioned giving Bloodlust to Myles; would he be that effective with it? Giving bloodlust to Myles will give him the berserk attack option (more damage) and an extra swing per attack, this combines nicely with the "free backstabs" How effective IS putting an skill point into Dagger Skill compared to none. What is 100 Dagger Skill in terms of Damage, To Hit etc compared to having zero? 100 Dagger gives +10 attack rating compered to +0 with 0 Dagger beside a high dagger skill will likely give you extra swings and attacks (depending on DEX, SPD and level)

Someone on the vnboards did a spotlight on the Rogue. The conclusion was that a dual wielding Rogue would even be able to compete with a Fighter. Stealth makes up for the low AC, but a Fighter gets to wear better resistance armors.

As far as better armor is concern, i've seen those Mauligators take a few bites off of my fighters and "thud thud" zero damage.
Hope those mauligators visit a dentist soon.. lol too bad I sold Bloodlust to that rapax smith in arnika.... =( oh well... |
