And if so, how?

I got an amulet of healing that casts Heal All, but it's only good for 5 times. Of course, it's nice anyway, because it raises global AC by a couple of points. But it would be nice to be able to recharge amulets.

I was wondering the same thing. I actually used up an amulet of healing and then sold it because I didn't think I would be able to recharge it.

Hail,

maybe sell the empty amulet to an NPC and buy it back ?
In some RPG's thats the way to recharge it. Sometimes 1 charge must be left when u sell otherwise they do not recharge it again.
Can u test this, i only use the Demo right now... hopefully tomorrow i can join the hunt.. my W8 should be here then...

Ciao

good idea!
i'm a couple of charges away and will try it out. actually, tho, i don't hold much hope for it, just because they do continue to be useful post-charge with their AC ability or various Resistances.

but it would be cool if you could do that. LOL. wonder if you can give it to the shopkeep, then steal it back, too? or maybe sell it to the shopkeep then steal it. things disappear when you give it to them.

hmmm.

Nope. No Recharge spells in Wiz 8.
A pity, it could be a nice high level Alchemist spell.

OK!!!

i DID it!!

i sold both an amulet of life with 1 charge and my Burning Spear with 0 charges to Antone.

lo and behold, when i went to check his inventory, he had them with charges. only thing is they were 1 charge less than what the item held originally.

original Burning Spear: 6 charges
bought back: 5 charges

original Amulet of Life: 4 charges
bought back: 3 charges

another note, he bought them from me at the going rate for that same item with charges. so i only paid out a couple hundred each to have him recharge them this way!!!

haven't tried with any other vendors. sorry.

i also haven't tried this the illegal way. i have a feeling that if you shoplift the item from him after he's charged it, you won't be able to ever sell it for charges again.

Nice!! I was going to try this too, what the hey consecutively declining charges per sale is way better than no recharging at all... Too bad leaving one charge left in the item doesnt get him to charge em back good as new...
