There was this movie i saw ages ago, and i can't remember it's title.
It was a really strange science fiction one, made around the 1970s.
There were these people on a spaceship, that caught this alien, that was pretty much a beachball, and they were going back to earth or something, then a bomb got armed, and the captian had to convince it not to explode by talking to it.
But it exploded anyway, and the survivors surfed on the wreckage, and everyone died.
There was a bit more to it than that, years since i've seen it, and it was strange, but i was wondering what that movie was called.

Anyone know?

Yes, it was an orange ball, and they are chasing it around the ship and stuff... I remember that one. Weird movie. Don't remember the exact story, but I remember the feeling after watching the movie was pure weirdness.

That has to be the best plot for any movie I've ever heard. In all seriousness, I now have to go to my local Civic Video and rent that movie. It was good... right?

It kinda reminds me of one of the new Pink Panther cartoons - or was it Futurama?
