I never thought I would say this about a Star Trek series... but it's damn good... I stayed up late last night and watched half of series 1 and two episodes from series 4... and wow. Some of the acting is bad of course but generally you start to like the characters and some of the episodes are... well exhilaratingly exciting...
I've always hated Star Trek but now it seems I have to rethink that whole idea... Anyone else like that series... or should I seek counceling... and do you have any fave episodes? |

Voyager is the least favourite of mine because it focuses too much on the characters daily lives. It's kinda soupie. Now the new series, Enterprise is ALL about the universal standings of Earth and they often continue with the main plot line in contrast to Voyager. Well, what's their plotline anyway... Nothing intruiging to say the least.

i prefer voyager .. i guess because the captain is a female and she is more focused on interelationships. of course there is a major plot with some sub-plots with minor sub-sub-plots

Voyger is great, but for me Deep Space Nine is best. The main difference is that in DS9 there are more colorful characters and the interrelations are a bit more omplicated. Oh, and a person born one year doesn't age 9 years before her first birthday(Naomi from Voyager). Plus DS9 has more massive space fights, something rarely seen in Voyager. Take this from a trekkie, if you liked Voyager you should love Deep Space Nine.

I am not a Star Trek fan either but really enjoyed the Voyager series. Most hard core fans seem to dislike it for whatever reasons. It seems that those who are not hugh fans of Star Trek enjoy Voyager much more for whatever reasons.

i think the reason is because voyager was marketed to the people who didnt like the other star trek series like picard and enterprise.. my guess though.
i do like a few of enterprise and deep space nine episodes. I never get to see huge battles in space with voyager. ![]()

Voyager is a soap opera set on a spaceship...
DS9 is a soap opera set on a space station... It's really just a little balance shift: the old series was sci-fi with a sprinkling of sexy chicks and sometimes a bit of character development. The new series are character and relationship development with a sprinkling of sci-fi. |

Although I tried to catch all the Voyager series as much as I could, I didn't actually like it a lot. Some of the episodes are somewhat dull in a way. But I do like it more than TNG.
Overall, I still prefers Enterprise as it is more focused on explorations and the difficulties of the crews on their journeys because they have very little to begin with and they aren't that "invulnerable" to attacks and etc. Also, Enterprise uses less techical mumbo-jumbo like TNG or Voyager.

Watch your language man! Such an attitude could do more harm than good. Even if you do not agree with our taste, you don't have to spoil the thread by using foul language.
