You can go back and do them whenever you want. It should be noted that there are two main sections, a top section which consists of several fairly easy floors, and a basement dungeon riddle/puzzle hellhole. I would not recommend doing the bottom until your party is fairly powerful. The top section can probably done when you are ready to tackle the *spoiler* Cloakwood Mines *un-spoiler*, assuming you have done most of the side-quests available at the time. Also, if you were planning to visit just for a bit early on, two Doom Guards will attack when you approach the entrance. Have fun!

My party is all level 6-7 and has no issues killing anything so far. Daveorn I think hit the turf after taking about 6 hitpoints off of one of my chars. lol.. I think I'm safe then. Doom knights shouldn't be an issue either. I hope there's more than two though or at least other mobs with decent exp.

thanks

the plot doesnt lead to ToTSC areas...

but before going to Durlags you might want to visit Ulgoth and sign up for the trip there.

Visiting Ulgoth's first is reccommended, but hardly critical.

Of the 3 main quests you recieve in Ulgoth's Beard, I'd say Shandalar's quest is easier than Ike's quest is easier than Mendas's quest.
