Can't enter Beregost

Okay, Whenever I try to enter Beregost the game turns itself off and gives me an error message saying: "An Assertion failed in D:\Dev\Baldur\CgameEffect.ccp at line number 808". Which is really weird, because I installed BG on drive C from CD-drive E. D only contains stuff like "system reinstall" and... nothign else. I've done a full install, patched the game, and I'm running a Windows XP. I'd be eternally grateful if someone could help me. Or at least eternally grateful for the rest of the week.

Also, do those nasty flesh golems need a +1 weapon to hit?

My guess would be the baldur.ini file. Perhaps, when it is time to switch CDs, it points to the D drive, when it should in fact be pointing to drive E? Switching the Ds with Es would fix this, I guess.

Nope. No 'D's in baldur.ini.

I don't think it has anything to do with this, but I took a little 'shortcut' to nashkel. I found that whatshisname with that cursed sword who kindly takes you to the nashkels temple if I solve his riddle.

Okay, It also happens when I try to go inside Friendly Arm Inn. I can enter the area and stuff but when I try to enter the building itself it just gives me the same error message.
This is starting to worry me.

I can't remember the site but there is one out there which details all the assertion errors and tells you what to do.

Firstly I would recommend cleaning your disks, then try a reinstall, afterall it doesn't take long and it will probably iron out your problem.

There isn't the exact same error number as yours, but 805 sounds a bit like your problem, although it is labeled a bit differently.

Well, it seems that cleaning the disks and reinstalling worked, but now there's an another freaky thing. When I got in FAI, Jaheira and Khalid were not there!! It might be just because I already cleared the Nashkel mines, but it still feels a little weird. Is it supposed to do that?

Well are you patched?I have never heard of this problem before,but maybe you have an old version or something. Get the patch and all should be sorted.

Yup. I'm patched. I wasn't going to take them anyway so it's not so bad, but it would still be nice to know what's going on.
