I went into a house in Beregost and a dwarf asked us to go with him. He seemed a little to insistent to go right away; so, I dumped him. Before I did this, I took his cool looking helmet. It says it is just a normal helmet; but, I put it on anyway 'cause it looked really cool. Should I keep it? Will it mean anything later on?

No, its just a normal helmet, there are 3-4 different models of non-magical helmets.

I was just about to engage in a 250-page elaboration of the topic, but I think Ertai summed it up pretty comprehensively ...

Normal helmet, nothing special. It looks cool though, as you pointed out. I'll give you a description of each type of helmet so you know what's magical or what's not.
Model 1: the standard model you buy in stores with 2 horns Model 2: a decorative helmet that resembles that worn by Flaming Fist Guards, a simple cylindrical helmet with a single tail of hair coming out of the top. It has a cross shaped hole to see out of. Model 3: a decorative helmet resembling those worn by the watchers of Candlekeep. It has two furry things (I don't know what else to call them) coming out of the helmet, sort of like horns with fur on the sides. It has a single slit for eyeholes. Model 4: a decorative helmet (lots o' decorative helmets eh?) that is the one you got. My second favorite helmet in appearance. Model 5: a decorative helmet (yes, another one) with cheek guards, open face, with large fins protruding from the sides. Personally, my favorite looking helmet. These are worn by Amnish soldiers. There are a couple exceptions to these general rules. The most notable one being the Helmet of Infravision. It looks like Model 3. If any helmet is unidentified, then it's magical. You can always find a way to elaborate things Ramon and a reason, see ![]() -Jafin ------------------ ![]() ![]() Proud Citizen of the United States of America The Original Arch-Mage of the HADB Destroyer of the evil Bunnies Proprietor of the Boogre Bar Guardian of Boo |
