Dulag's Tower (teleporting to chess game)

I have defeated all 4 elementals and was not teleported to the chess game in durlag's tower. I do have the totsc patch installed and have even uninstalled the entire game and reinstalled as directed by the kind folks at interplay. I replayed the level again and still did not teleport please help with this it is very frustrating. If someone could answer the following questions:

1. Does the totsc patch need to go to a specific location
2. Can you rest on that level without it preventing the teleport
3. Do you need the teleportation ward stones from the previous level
4. Can you travel back to the previous level without preventing the teleport
5. Can the 4 rooms be done in any order
6. Does it matter how I kill the Phoenix Guards (I killed her before arrow
fired and after arrow fired).
7. Does the xp cap remover have any effeect on this

Thank you in advance for help on this matter. If anyone knows anything that could be a factor please let me know. I have finished before and do not remember this being a problem.

This same thing happened to me, and eventually I figured out that you need to kill EVERYTHING inside those 4 rooms, not just the elementals. Go back and make sure all the winter wolves and pheonix guards and, probably why, the 3 invisible stalkers in the very back of the air room. You have to explore a bit for them to chase you. After all creatures are dead in these rooms, it should teleport you. Hope this helps,

Yep, B.O.'s got it, I had precisely the same trouble. Oh yeah, Invisible Stalkers can be a pain.

One more question on this please. I know you said that most patches install to correct location on their own, mine went to my documents, I would like for you to tell me where your totsc patch was sent.

Ah, if it needs to be installed to a certain directory, install it into the main BG override file. It should look something like this:

C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate\Override\

Assuming that C is your main drive. After the files are in this folder, simply run your game and it should read the patch automatically. Hope this helps,

Just a follow-up, the BG game patches download as an executable. It doesn't matter where that goes as long as you know where it is. Find it, and run it. If you download the executable to the overide folder and don't run it all it does is take up space.

Thanks to all, how do you run it? I finished the level for the fourth time and still no teleport, so I wan't to do it right. The level is getting very boring. Thanks
