whats up with the chess game I movie any character and im attacked is this supose to happen?

There are rules on how you can move and not be attacked. Either dont break them, or do it my way - stand still, and open fire. A well stocked party should be able to eliminate the other side without too much difficulty. IIRC, its possible to take half of them down without getting the heavy hitteres into LOS, so you can save half way through.

so i can move without being attacked, i have tryed several times but know matter were i go like everyone attacks and my party isint the strongest so i preatty much die

This is an area where a mage comes in handy. Conjure any summons that you have as well cast any spells like cloud kill, grease in the center. Keep all your guys back and use archery, and spells to take them out. Mass damage spells like fireball, are nice to. I am not sure if Ice storm is in the regular game but that is a good one as well.

If you can make it to the chess board you should be able to beat it.

the 8 pawns will attack if you step into the first row of squares and you wont be hit by lightning there, but one hit from any of them and you die, no saves nothing but they find it very hard to hit you, but you do need to be careful, likewise one hit from you kills them, draw them out get someone with a bow to pick em off or use summoned monsters to beat them up (one hit and dead so its not hard) i beat the entire chess board in about 30 seconds with monster summonings, my actual characters didnt move an inch from starting positions cept for my invis main char (ring of invisibility) who scouted ahead to see the enemy positions he has full lightning immune so no worries about damage either [img]smile.gif[/img]

and remember just kill the king and the rest die too.

Durlag's Tower Chess Game Spoiler

I tried and tried on this'n. I had Garrick loaded with 3 webs and had him use all three. But as soon as I did anything else aggressive, like shoot fireballs, the king and queen and everyone else charged me and everyone died. What finally broke it for me was using the haste spell. We finally killed everyone else off after that.

Hmmm.....one thing I never tried was combining Protection from Electricity with Stealth or Invisibility, and walking over to their side of the board to fry them all with someone else's Lightning Bolts.....

tried that six, it doesnt work, they detect you regardless of invis (think the king has some kind of vision on it) once you come to their side and although the lightning bolts get some it doesnt get all so the deadly ones get to your side and kill in a hit.
