MODS

Are there any good mods out there? I know a couple sites that have a lot of them posted but I have a feeling a lot of them suck. I am also guessing they take a total of 30 minutes to play. Does anybody have recommendations?

I recommend the Penultima series. I am on the second mod (out of five). Funny and fun!
There is also a Pool of Radiance mod that clocks in at 20hrs gameplay according to the creator. I have dl'ed it, but not yet played.

Look for both biowares and nw vaults featured/reviewed mods on those respective sites.

for some reason I just can't seem to get a mod to work.I download them then place them in my mod folder in neverwinter folder and when I click on new game and enter the new mods folder its always empty could someone please take me through the steps one at a time as I may be somewhat dense when it comes to pcs...Thanks in advance...

Did you unzip the mod with winzip?

You didn't mention that step so I thought I'd ask.

edit: step by step.

Does the file you downloaded end with ".zip" If you have winzip, right click on the file you downloaded in your module folder and select "extract here". Winzip will do the rest. The file you want to see in your mod file ends with ".mod" If you don't have winzip or something similar (I use powerarchiverpro) do a web-search: key word zip.

make sure they are not .zip files, unzip them and leave the .mod file behind in the directory

thanks I think I unzipped them before I placed them in the folder but it wouldn't surprise me not to see a .mod there...thanks again I'll check it next,

I like a few different mods... I like the Penultima series... they are good [img]smile.gif[/img] and also I liked Legacies: the celestial wood and the Golden Dragon.. thats quick and ok as well [img]smile.gif[/img]

I must be really dim witted..I can't get any of these to work I have two mods in my nev. folder in the mod folder,if I (open) them it will show .mod, but when I get back in the game and click on the new mods theres nothing there!So how do you get from ....download the mod to actually playing it?Thanks for your patience.

Are you selecting NEW GAME when starting the module? If you choose anything else, it will not show up. Other than this, it's hard to say. Tell us step by step what you are trying to do and we can try and go from there. It sounds like you have it in the right directory though. Should be under NWN and then under modules. If there is a readme file, you might want to check that as well in case you have to do other features to access / use the mod. IE HAKs, etc.

Well I finally got a few working but keep getting my ass kicked!! They recommend level 5or6 but how do you start with a level higher than 1!!??Maybe I should go back to playing nvn buy itself!just started the 3 time through still waiting for Icewind 2
