Evil isn't my way, but I know some like to play it. I've been curious about the results of doing Barad's third quest of killing all the monks.
If you did this quest, what did he give as a reward? More important, does he double-cross you and attack when you open the gate to the Underdark? |

C'mon folks, I know some players were planning to do this. I'd really appreciate hearing from someone who did this quest. |

Heya Nightowl,
I did the third quest and killed all of the monks in the monastary. I justified it to myself because all of my party are mercenary CN types and really didn't give a damn about respecting the monks traditions and going through the eight chambers. I don't really see it as a truly evil act anyway, after all, the monks are LN in alingment and they are hardly helpless women and children that you are slaughtering As for the reward, if I remember correctly the Duergar leader gives you a lightweight suit of spell-resistant plate, an enchanted warhammer, and a few assorted gems and other sundries. So yeah, I think that if you can justify doing a possibly evil deed then it's worth it And yeah, the Duergar ambush you at the gate, just grin savagely and whack em out too

Thanks for the reply. I would never do such a thing myself (even with the magic of save and restore), but I really did want to know what would come of accepting the assignment. Now that I do know, you can be sure I'd never accept (though I have, on occasion, been tempted to start something in fortress, since I know what they plan on doing later...
