Hi
Was wondering if somebody could answer a few questions on this mod for me. 1. Is it in anyway whatsoever an official thing with input by bioware? 2. How easily does it work with totsc installed ie bug wise?? 3. Does it work like TOTSC where it must be completed before defeating sarevok in the final battle?? 4. With all the extra spells and weapons can these be exported to shadows of amn?? 5.if i install it can it be deleted easily without disrupting the previous install of BG + TOTSC Thanks for any info folks

I can answer a few of your questions:
1. I don't think so. I'm not sure there are any "semi-official" mods for BG1. 2. I didn't have any problems. I downloaded and installed all the programs in the order I was instructed and everything was okay. 3. I think so. I think that everything has to be done before the final battle, hence the name. I never tried though. 4. None of your gear follows you into SoA, unfortunately. 5. Not sure. As far as the game goes, DSotSC is a nice little add-on, especially if you've played BG1 a million times and need something else to do. The only thing is though, by the time you finish, you are pretty powerful. It almost makes the game too easy. There are new items that turn your tanks into wrecking machines. My AC is -9 on two of my NPCs, and I did all this before I went to Cloakwood. It almost made the game not fun (almost). For instance... Spoiler - - - - - - - - - - - - - When I did the werewolf island in TotSC, I did the entire thing without needing to rest or reload. I took very little damage, and only needed a handful of potions and healing spells. There were a few levels of the werewolves' ship where I took no damage at all. I'm kind of dreading the final battle, where I know I'll take down Sarevok on the first try. Powergaming, hack and slash type of play is not my thing. I guess you could argue that you don't have to use the equipment that DSotSC provides, but in the interest of roleplaying you have to ask yourself if your PC or NPCs would really not use an all-powerful weapon because it makes things "too easy". Anyway, I'm babbling. Give DSotSC a try, the storyline is good and the new NPCs are kind of cool. Plus you'll get a kick out of one of the accents that an essential NPC has. High comedy... jeromy |

What am I to do with the wood-elf elites in the area above Gnoll Stronghold? I talked to everyone but no quest or dialogue.

I'm playing DSOTSC for the first time right now. It seems to work ok, but there are a few minor bugs. Nothing serious just missing text and descriptions, etc. I'm doing the DS quests and already my party is too powerful for the rest of the stuff in Chapter 5 & 6. It makes a change not knowing where to find things and even how to travel to the new areas, I got so used to the old stuff, but now I have to explore everywhere again.

Yes, it looks like those pansy Wood Elves don't do a lot, unless you realy annoy them, in which case they kill you. Probably they are there to show that things have changed in DSOTSC and that you should treat these guys, and others like them, with some respect.
Also I go stuck in my DSOTSC game due to a bug, but there is plenty of info on their website and forum, so I was able to do a MoveToArea to get around it. Be sure to check out the website for yourselves.

1. No input from Bioware, it is a mod created by the good people of TeamBG 2. In terms of bugs I found thousands (but as I said I downloaded the first version most of the bugs have been corrected now) 3. Yes, as soon a Sarevok is defeated the game ends so yes you have to do the mod area's before hand 4. No and neither can you character if you used the mod so make sure you make a back up copies of your characters before you install it so you can use them in SOA 5. If memory serves yes, as it comes with an uninstaller, but characters and save games should no longer work, I am not 100% on any of this it was a very very long time ago that I played it [ 07-27-2002, 02:12 PM: Message edited by: Daniel ] |

I've got some problems with Banshee, the sister one must kill in the Jet'laya quest. I surive her fear/death spells but after a few "Etheral" she is gone for good. I took my boots of speed and walked around the whole map and scattered my party but she never attacks or appear again.
Update: I made it! I used some staffs and a ring that "shoot fire" (looks like anagovas sorcerer). I also found I could "search" for her by firing napalms here and there, but it didnt work so well, it seems she just strolls of far away? Alright then, I'll bite. Is DSotSC good? I won't be able to d/l it for another week-and-a-half to two weeks (when I get on to some cheeky T1 action) so I wasn't going to rouse my curiosity over it too much.
Go on, tell me.
